The conflicts are certainly different for Anakin and Dutch, the outcomes even more so, but the nature of their stories is still very similar. They are both characters who bring about the very things they are trying to avoid in their quest for the life they want. Blinded by selfishness and greed, they each make mistake after mistake not realizing they are creating their own downfall, from rushing into situations without proper planning to trusting people they know they shouldn’t. A hero’s demise and the rise of a villain are timeless tales in every form of literature, and Red Dead Redemption _ and Red Dead Redemption 2 _ already set in motion that narrative for Dutch. This, paired with the fact that moving forward in time with RDR3 presents massive struggles, makes continuing the prequel trajectory an ideal fit. Doing so gives fans the opportunity to see a young Dutch van der Linde in a similar way that Star Wars fans saw the boy who would one day become Darth Va
Few players know that the quest can actually be completed by Marston instead of Arthur. The language in the final cutscene will be altered because Jean-Marc is threatening Arthur and not Marston. He will remark that Jean is «running his mouth about my friends.» This small detail was a cool feature in a game with thousands of dialogue options.
If Arthur lets Jean-Marc go, he will disseminate information regarding all of the Mayor’s corrupt practices. Players will receive positive honor points as well. After a few days of in-game time, Arthur will be informed that Jean-Marc is the new mayor of Saint Denis. Amid the damning allegations against him, Lemieux will be forced to step down from his position.
They bluntly claim that » Arthur is a sbag murderer , he is never redeemed. He does some s for a family of killers instead of a group of killers, and dies a criminal’s death.» Harsh words, and definitely an unpopular opin
The Undead Nightmare DLC has been hugely popular with Red Dead fans — and this mission is a nod to the zombie movies that inspired it. When filmmaker D.S. MacKenna has the mighty brainwave to make a movie about «flesh-eating monsters,» John can’t help but ask: «What kind of sick person would like th
After looking in the area, he discovers a dead animal — which happens to be the aforementioned lion, which is actually just a Labrador with a mane. The deceased dog is placed in the back of the caged wagon in the hopes of attracting the missing tiger. Without delay, a cougar with painted stripes climbs into the wagon. This «tiger» may not qualify as a legendary animal in Red Dead Redemption 2 , but it certainly is memora
Updated on June 9th, 2024, by Ritwik Mitra: The world of Red Dead Redemption 2 is full to the brim with a wealth of Stranger missions, side content that feels almost as fleshed out as the main campaign’s missions. One such Stranger mission puts players in contact with Henri Lemieux, the mayor of Saint Denis, and his deputy, a man by the name of Jean-Marc Mercier . Jean-Marc operates as the deputy for the corrupt mayor, whom he hates with every fiber of his being, and Arthur’s actions during these Stranger missions govern whether he uncovers the mayor’s corruption and becomes the new mayor of Saint Denis, or is killed by Arthur under Lemieux’s orders.
Rockstar has been one of the most acclaimed developers of this generation, largely for the incredible narratives it creates. While the GTA franchise is certainly Rockstar’s crown jewel, the studio’s most impressive narrative is arguably the story told throughout Red Dead Redemption _ and Red Dead Redemption 2 _ . Choosing to move back in time with RDR2 made a lot of sense given how the original game ended. Making a direct sequel would have been tricky at the least, but beyond that, Rockstar’s decision to move back in time actually changes the overall direction of the entire franchise and possibly for RDR3 as w
Lemieux is worried that Jean-Marc will turn on him and expose the corruption in the city. He also mentions that Jean-Marc could spread rumors about Arthur’s illicit activities. Players will then need to travel to Jean Marc’s home, which is in Rue De Zacharie just south of the A in Saint Denis. Gamers will spot Jean-Marc attempting to open his door, and a cutscene will initiate. Arthur will knock him out on the spot. Next, Arthur will need to take Jean-Marc back to the Mayor’s house without being seen. This step should not be too difficult, as it will be nighttime. Still, players should try not to attract any unwanted attention that can force them to retry this step of the mission again.
While Dutch may not have a Chosen One-type prophecy driving his narrative, it would be hard to convince him of it. Dutch believes unequivocally that he is destined to make a utopia for him and his own that fits his fantasy of a free frontier. The original Red Dead Redemption showed Dutch Click at Regiprocess the very end of his journey when he had no cards left up his sleeve, but even then the enigmatic leader had the last word and ended things on his own terms. When the story roles back to the downfall of the Van Der Linde Gang in RDR2, players see a much more nuanced Dutch with more of the charm and bravado for which he’s known, but that slowly fades as the story progresses. Even as the game foreshadows that he is getting sloppy and erratic, Dutch still showcases hints at the man he was , who was able to inspire all the members to follow![]()
